XVI — The Tower · Drop 1
Tesla believed the thin air high above the earth could carry electrical energy at very high voltages. This patent pairs a transmitter and a receiver, each with a tall elevated terminal, designed to pass power between them through the upper atmosphere. He tested the idea at his laboratory in Colorado Springs in 1899, chasing a world where energy needed no wires at all.
Restored from the original U.S. patent and printed in amber on black.
